Light Bulb!! (said in a Dispicable Me, Steve Carell vioce)
Okay... so laugh if you want but I had a genius idea today.. After being sick I took afew days off from any exercise.. Well to be honest I took a break from everything, didn't do dishes, not a load of Laundry etc.. So I woke up this morning refreshed and feeling new, but the house was a wreck!! Well had to do some running a round town for about 2 hours..Get home in enough time to have to leave 10 minutes later to pick Kaya up from school.. Then 2 short hours later Jeremy has to go to work.. Long story short..It was 9 at night and I looked a round and the house was still a mess and I missed my window to be able to go for a walk..No exercise to claim for the day...AND then it hit me!!
HARDCORE HOUSEWORK!!! So started to think of all the things I needed to do and what physical movements would I be able to do to incorporate exercises into housework.. The names are very silly but... whatever I don't care..(I use an egg timer while doing this, or stop watch)
So I quickly thought of Sweeping Squat Walk..(Try it for 6 minutes and you will not laugh at this idea) I just walked all over my living room and kitchen in a squatting walk..tried to stay at 90 degrese as much as possible when standing still only slightly higher when taking steps...It took me 6 minutes to finish sweeping..It was easy at first but got really hard by minute 5..Then I did some regular squats for 4 minutes to make it an even 10 minutes..
Then I had a sink full of dishes to wash (don't have the luxury of a dishwasher) and I thought how can i make this exercise, standing in one place washing dishes...while the sink filled with soapy water I thought Sink Stretch So as the wash water filled the sink I stretched, toe touches, a few lunges, etc...Then I switched the water to fill up the rinse side.. Then I thought what about abs is there anyway to workout my abs standing up..Then I remembered seeing this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6FCKflDCdc
I call it Rinse Water Punches (to keep with my theme) Easy standing ab routine takes 3 minutes, just enough time for a sink to fill up...(if your sink fills up fast just make the water flow slower)..
By this time I had been cleaning and working for 15 minutes and I could tell My heart rate was up and my muscles were being worked...And I started to get really excited this idea its a total 2 birds with 1 stone kinds thing...(I am a dork, yes... I know)
It was now time to wash the dishes.. I had to have I'm arms pretty much still..So what else could I move and stay in the same spot... So I started Dish wash Dancing A Shakira inspired shake my booty kind of belly dancing ...Only 2 songs later (about 5 minutes) I was winded, abs burning...I then thought about my calves.. I have never had well defined calves.. So I slowed down and started just slowly going to a tiptoe ballerina stance and holding it till it really burned..Then I did one leg at a time, and kicked my leg out to the side 5 times on each side..(5 reps) I was using the sink for balance, holding a dish in the hand resting on the counter while scrubbing with the other...
By then I was done with the dishes and had been moving and shaking for 25 minutes.. My legs had been worked out from the Squat Sweeping and Dish wash Dancing, my abs had gotten a good workout from the Dish wash Dancing.. All I had left was arms for a well rounded all over workout..
I saw I had yet to put my dining table chairs back at the table after sweeping...I then lifted the chair I figure it weighed at least 8 lbs ( guess) so I picked it up and played around with it for 5 minutes doing curls, held it at 90% for a good burn out..(.I don't have good names for these but I am still developing this workout if I even keep this part..lol) As soon as I realized this was very limited in what you could with a chair before you crack your shin a few times, I noticed the big bottle of laundry detergent on the dryer...And proceeded to do Laundry Lifting. For another 5 minutes I lifted that bottle of laundry detergent as many ways as I could think of to workout my arms...BURN!!!
I looked at the stop watch and it had been 35 minutes.. By then everything felt like jello so I figured, one more thing with arms then a cool down stretch...So I just did simple arms extended straight out by my sides and made small circles in the air very slow for 3 minutes, then very big for 2 minutes...Then PHEW...time for that last 5 minute stretch....
Making my HARDCORE HOUSEWORK WORKOUT 40 minutes long..All while getting my dishes clean, floor swept and counters wiped ( while on tiptoes)..I was proud, and now want to develop more Hardcore housework workouts...EEkkkkk
I will let you know if I am sore tomorrow..lol

BODY1/20/12
I calculated my BMI today with one of the generic punch in your height, weight, age, gender, wrist size , and hip size.. I have a 26.6% of body fat.. I have reset my goal on lose it to 128. Which would put me at 20% body fat.. Meaning I have 31 lbs to lose.. Which I will be happy with.. I have no desire to have a six pack.. I do have a desire to have a healthy body and mind..
I can still eat the same amount of calories, and I will add exercise gradually.. I walked a mile today in 18 minutes.. and weighed 159.4 this morning and plan on working out after my kids go to sleep..My legs are already sore from 5 minutes each of squats, push ups, and crunches I did last night..So 15 minutes then a good stretch.. I could totally feel it on my walk today..But it wasn't like I had to make myself do it.. I made up my mind yesterday that I had to get my heart and lungs healthy..
So today I smoked 4 cigarettes better than the 7 or 8 I usually indulge in, tomorrow I will shoot for 2.. It being really cold at night is a help..
Soul
I figured If I was going to get myself back into the habit of reading the Bible I had to start with the Gospels.. Love me some Jesus.. What I have a hard time motivating myself to read is the old testament.. He hath and he beget, so hard for me to power through.. That being said I decided to start with the New testament until I get in the habit of reading for at least 30 minutes a day.. By the time I get used to reading everyday I will be more likely to be able to keep it up and read the old testament.. I want to read the entire bible in at most 2 years..I am thinking about trying one of the plans they have for you to finish it in a year....well any hoo Today ...
I read Matthew chapters 3-9 I mainly was drawn to the sermon on the Mount..
4. Points that spoke to me personally, put into my own words..
1. salt and light... I personally need to make this a huge part of my focus.. Be salt and light...
Let my light shine so that others can see it and give God glory for good works done by me through his grace and mercy..
2.Anger.. Forgiveness is essential in my walk with the Lord.. In that I must forgive others and that I must be held accountable, ask God and man for forgiveness for my offences and transgressions..
3.The Lords Prayer.. I was relieved when I read, and reread this..I was taught this growing up..but most important for me personally is the beginning of that part. 6:5-6 Please read it for yourself, this is what it means to me...Pray in private, secret, to God who sees you in secret, do not pray for man to hear you...What you do in secret will be rewarded... its not the person you put on display that should be praying it is the closet you that ONLY God knows about (And by you I also mean ME..)
4. Do not be anxious...this is one of my favorite verses in the Bible..
Which of you by being anxious (also have seen it translated worry)
Can add a single hour to his span

NOW......PRAY!!
I have also realized I need to concentrate on my relationship with the Lord..I am and have been a believer since I was 6 years.. However I have just recently started to take the relationship seriously.. I have never wavered in my belief though I have always stood at a distance.. I am going to combine both subjects in this blog.. My physical and spiritual well being..With goals for each.. My starting goals for this part are as follows..
*Pray more
*Read at least a chapter of the Bible everyday and post about it
*Recognize negative thoughts caused by the devil and rebuke him/them
that's enough for now, baby steps....

Why I started this blog
At the beginning of this year I decided to make some changes and I did so for
vein reasons, not for the right ones.. When I first started trying to make
changes I had yet to discover the site Lose It! That I am useing as a weightloss tool.. I had decided to stop eating so much
sugar, and to lose a little weight.. That was about all the thought I had given
it.. That was until this week, I really started to think about all the
people in my life and there health..
My mother was 230 lbs when she had gastric bypass.. She has gone on to have 5 other elective surgeries.. 4 of which to fix the damage she did to her body from her previous weight..
My father, grandmother, grandfather, and cousin all have diabetes..3 of those 4 can control it much better when they are at a healthy weight..
My step father who smoked for 30 years had a stroke 2 years ago at the age of 59..Which he is still recovering from, and will probably never fully recover from.. I don't know, maybe if he had not smoked, he might not have had his stroke, I do know it didn't help..
I did the math and in the past 5 years I have allowed 30lbs to creep up on me..If I continue do this for the next 15 years I would be almost 250 lbs.. The same weight my mother got to at her largest..
I now realize this is not a 1 month or 2 month thing.. This is my life..I can't just spend a few weeks trying to look better and then think I am done.. I have to make changes..FOREVER!!And make them for my health not my vanity..
I am going to list changes here mainly for myself..... I will post weekly sometimes more and report here on my progress and/or failure..To hold myself accountable..I think if I post it for all to see I might stick with it better..
*quit smoking
*walk 3 times a week starting tomorrow!! 1/20/12
*drink 64oz of water a day!!
*log on lose it! everything I eat and drink everyday
*do cardio of some sort 4 times a week starting 1/21/12
( going to start small, baby steps. I will add more later, I will not feel overwhelmed)
I CAN DO THIS!!
